Bookies Split Over Whether To Pay Out On QPR Winning Championship

Queens Park Rangers are eight points clear at the top of the Championship table and their nearest rivals Norwich have only two games in hand yet some bookmakers are not yet paying out on Rangers winning the title because of the possibility they may face a points deduction this week as a result of a Football Association enquiry of a possible breach of Football League rules .  

So far Ladbrokes , William Hill and Bet365 have all announced that they WILL  pay out on QPR winning the Championship even if they are not the Official winners after any points deduction . Graham Sharpe spokesman for William Hill bookies said "In the event that Rangers are deducted points and therefore adjudged not to have finished first in the table we will also pay out on whichever club does."

A report in the Sun newspaper over the weekend quoting an inside source suggested that Neil Warnock's side may face a points deduction of up to 15 points that would leave them in the end of season Championship play offs . There is no doubt that Rangers have won the Championship Title on merit this season , losing only five games in the process .

The investigation relates to the signing of Alejandro Faurlin and whether QPR followed the correct procedure in acquiring the rights to the player from a third party . The case will be heard by the FA tomorrow with a decision expected on Friday .

Norwich and Cardiff could both still be crowned Championship winners and both teams are in action in crucial televised games this evening with Cardiff entertaining Middlesbrough followed by Norwich's visit to Portsmouth . The leading betting exchange Betfair is currently quoting QPR at odds of around 1/3 to remain as Champions with Norwich at odds of 5/1 and Cardiff 9/1 .
