Tiger Woods Shoots 75 In Dubai Last Round

There were a few suprises in the last round of the Dubai Desert Classic this morning as the expected challenge from overnight leader and favourite Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods failed to materialise . McIlroy was 3/1 favourite going into the last round but could only a manage a two over par 74 to finish in joint 10th position five shots behind Tournament winner Alvaro Quiros .

Tiger Woods fared even worse , his last round of 75 included a double bogey at the 18th where he pitched into the lake at the front of the green . Woods was quoted at 4/1 prior to the start of the last round as he was in a group of players just one shot back from the joint leaders .

Spaniard Quiros included a hole in one at the 11th in a very eventful 68 that saw him win the Dubai Desert Classic for the first time by just one shot from James Kingston of South Africa and Anders Hansen . Quiros who was 16/1 prior to the Tournament continued his good form after finishing runner up the previous week in Qatar .

The European Tour moves to India this coming week for the Avantha Masters at the DLF Golf and Country Club in New Delhi . With the US Masters now only 7 weeks away World No.1 Lee Westwood will be quite pleased with a return to some form which gave him a tie for 15th in Dubai and Tiger Woods will take some heart from his secound round 66 which showed he isn't too far from returning to his best form .

Woods as ever is favourite for the US Masters but Westwood is attractively priced at 14/1 with 888Sport .
