Jin Furyk wins the 2010 FedEx Cup

The US PGA Tour is the most prestigious and lucrative golf tour of its kind. The Tour consists of week-to-week events beginning in early January and runs all the way through the year usually to the mid-end of November, depending on end dates being pushed back through Weather or other purposes.

The PGA Tour is organized around the golf's four Major Championships (the Masters,  the U.S. Open, the Open Championship and the PGA Championship) and apart from a few exceptions, the remainder of the week-to-week events are hosted and organised by the PGA TOUR and occur in many locations around the United States. In addition, one event is hosted in each of Mexico, Puerto Rico and Canada. The events in Mexico and Puerto Rico are "Alternate" events, meaning the pool is often a lot weaker as they are generally alternatives to larger tournaments.

As an incentive to encourage competitive play after the four Majors have been played, the PGA TOUR introduced the FedEX Cup in response to the perceived anti-climatic finale to the PGA Tour. The FedEX acts as a play-off system (the first of its kind to be introduced to any golfing tour) for the PGA Tour, introducing a points system with top performers able to earn more cash prizes and progress through the playoff finale and winning the FedEX Cup itself.

In addition to the play-offs there is also a Fall Series that takes place annually as part of the PGA Tour. Many events have their own requirements being regular events whereby members of the tour may compete.

REDEEMING PGA TOUR FREE BETS

Normally, using your free bet is simply a matter of making your selection and indicating on the bet slip that you wish to use your free bet. Some bookmakers’ methods vary slightly, however their websites contain instructions on how to redeem your free bet.

There will be restrictions placed on the use of free bets which vary between bookmakers and is advisable to make yourself familiar with those restrictions before signing up.

The six most important facts about redeeming free PGA Tour bets

  1. Free bet stakes will not be included in returns
  2. Minimum Odds; expect the bookmaker to insist your free bet is placed on a selection with a minimum price, typically 1/5 (1.20) to evens (2.00)
  3. Bet Type restrictions; you may not be allowed to use your free bet for types of bets, however Singles are universally allowed and Accumulators are allowed by most bookmakers.
  4. Product restrictions; you won’t be able to invest free bets in Tote Pools and in many instances will be confined to using the free bets in the sportsbook rather than Casino, Poker and other gaming products.
  5. Rollover requirements; some online bookmakers insist customers bet their deposit and/or stake a number of times before making a withdrawal.
  6. Free Bet Expiry; if unused, the free bets will expire after a period of time, normally 7 to 30 days.
